Jay Strongwater Skull Figurines
Did the title catch you by surprise? No, it's not click click bait Jay Strongwater really is making skulls. Why you ask? Well to celebrate the Mexican tradition of decorating skulls to celebrate the "Dia de Muertos" or "Day of the Dead". And no, they don't use real skulls! They are made of sugar and then hand painted in different designs and colors. While this may seem strange to most Americans these intricate creations are truly beautiful to behold, Jay Strongwater has taken this art form to a new level.

The Jay Strongwater skulls are first carved in clay with a raised floral pattern highlighted with jeweled fluttering butterflies or flowers. Then they are cast in pewter, finished in 18K gold and beautifully painted in tones of enamel by his finest artisans in Rhode Island. The Jay Strongwater skulls sparkle with hand-set Swarovski crystals and are true works of art.
