Well to celebrate the Mexican tradition of decorating skulls to celebrate the "Dia de Muertos" or "Day of the Dead". And no, they don't use real skulls! They are made of sugar and then hand painted in different designs and colors. The Jay Strongwater skulls are first carved in clay with a raised floral pattern highlighted with jeweled fluttering butterflies or flowers. The Jay Strongwater skulls sparkle with hand-set Swarovski crystals and are true works of art.
